Audience Profile

Peanut butter advertisment
Who is the audience:Probably mother's who have school aged children
What is there attitude:They probably want to how healthy the peanut butter is and if it still tastes good enough for the children to eat it. They might also have an attitude of frugality and want to find a cost saving peanut butter.
What do they need to know: They need to know this peanut butter is delicious and their children will love it; yet, its also healthy for them and is avaliable at a reasonable cost. If they peanut butter is expensive they need to know that it is worth the cost.

A letter to a property managment company concerning a continuous problem with the heating and air conditioning:
Who is the audience: The property managment company employees-most likely the human recources director that is in charge of handling complaints.
What is there attitude: The company might be defensive upon receiving a letter that critisizes them. They might also have an attitude of bias towards the company. However, hopefully they have an attitude of wanted to improve the company and thus, correct the problem.
What do they need to know: They need to know that while you are pointing out a problem with the company you still respect them. Also, They need to do in a clear and exact manner what the problem is, when it occures, and where it occurs.

BusComm_Ethics

It is un ethical to deemphasize negative test results because it can be very harmful
and potential deadly to the public. If a pharmacy company has a drug that, while it has some benefits, also has extreme side effects or risks, the consumer has the right to know about them. But deemphasizing negatives results the public may not become aware of them and take a drug that is very dangerous for them. No matter the cost benefit for the company and how it affects them financially, the company has an ethical duty to protect human life and give consumers complete knowledge of the drug. Some may claim this is an ethical dilemma, because if the company shows negative results and fewer products sold, the company’s employees could face job loss, salary cut backs, which could affect not only their lives but their families as well. However, I do not think this is a ‘grey’ ethical area. I believe it is clear-cut. No matter the effect of stating negative results for the company or it’s employees it is unethical to risk a life in the name of money.

I would omit ‘pleased as punch’-it sounds rather unprofessional and is an American phrase that they might not now. Also, I would not say we want to ‘sell you America’-it sounds rather forceful and pushy. Also, level best is a strange term to use here I feel). And I would spell out ASAP if you want it to be more formal.(my thoughts)

I wanted to welcome you as soon as possible to our branch in the United States. I am looking forward to being able to shake hands with you in person. I am very excited about getting to know you all and will do my best to ensure that you enjoy your time in the states. (revised email☺)
